BER (Building Energy Rating)

Benefits

Getting an energy audit of your home at any stage informs you of the energy performance of your house and therefore helps you saves you money on energy bills. By making improvements where the energy rating increases, properties can expect a better market value compared to a similar property where no improvements have been made.

As part of any audit we can provide the following services:

  1. Calculate how best to cut your energy costs
  2. Estimate the difference any energy improvement will make
  3. Estimate the payback of various improvements in euros

The new Energy Performance in Buildings Directive will bring significant changes to the property market. This new EU directive obliges that a BER Certificate be obtained for:

  1. All new dwellings where planning permission was applied for after 1st January 2007.
  2. All new non-domestic buildings (commercial properties) for sale or rent after 1 July 2008.
  3. All existing buildings for sale or rent after 1 Jan 2009.

We provide an energy audit from a Certified BER auditor on request to all our customers

A person offering a new dwelling for sale or letting (whether in writing or otherwise) is required to produce a copy of the BER (Building Energy Rating) Certificate to the building energy control authority for the area.
