BER procedure

Procedure

  1. The customer, typically a home owner, Developer, Auctioneer or Estate Agent contacts us for an initial discussion.

  2. We are supplied with any relevant information such as architectural drawings, boiler specifications, heating controls, ventilation system and insulation used.

  3. We perform the calculations based on the data provided and submit the results to SEI.

  4. We produce a report on the resultant Building Energy Rating and the preliminary BER Certificate is issued by SEI to us. This Certificate is valid for a period of 2 years.

  5. We issue an invoice for our work which includes the €25 Certificate charge from SEI.

  6. Upon completion of the house, we perform a second assessment on the house. This cost of this assessment shall be determined by the extent of any energy specific alterations during the building of the house.

  7. We will provide a document for the customer to verify that all data the provided is correct.

  8. We perform the calculations again if required and submit to SEI. A final BER Certificate is issued by SEI to us. We send on an invoice for the €25 final Certificate and the cost of the 2nd assessment. This cost will be minimal if there are no alterations to the dwelling.

  9. Upon receipt of the fee, we send on the final Certificate.
